Blind to San Francisco's pipe dreams of a new 49ers stadium in Hunters Point, Santa Clara's pressing forward with their own plans. A final environmental impact report was released Friday night, and the city's planning commission hears the 49ers' spiel on it later today. Then if everything passes muster after a city council vote, the stadium could be put to Santa Claran vote next June. Still — proof that these things matter in Santa Clara too — the plan is said to not account well for what could be a "traffic nightmare" on NFL nights. [SJ Merc, previously]
