As neighbors talk about offensive solar panels in the Upper Haight, the Planning Commission talks about cutting down on overly sensitive and frivolous "discretionary reviews" filed with the city— or, as commissioners referred to it back in May, "political theater." Not everyone's digging the idea: one supe says residents might see the process as their only avenue of input, while another wonders if commissioners shouldn't be working on more important things at the moment. Like empty lots, maybe. [SF Examiner, previously]
