Architecture Watch: Big Ideas, Bay Area Architects in NYC

New, 8 comments

The website for the newly dubbed neighborhood of New York, Greenwich South, points toward several fantastical building additions, a couple of which owe their existences to Bay Area firm IwamotoScott and L.A./NYC-based Morphosis (known best here for designing the city's newest Federal Building in SoMa). The ideas for Greenwich South, like the most of the buildings shown, make for pretty heady stuff: gravity-defying art, live/work/farm concepts, and lots of stacked barrels or something. Sweet.
