The "beautification", or rather, removal, of the median at Market and 8th is complete, without any pee-proof flowers in sight. In fact, few flowers at all. The hardy-looking flora's being watered by, if you'll recall, a "solar-controlled, gravity-fed water tank." Initial responses have been skeptical, from "really, all my problems with downtown will be fixed once there are some flowers at the muni station" to numerous concerns over the planter's exposure to, well, the human elements. Bonus: City Hall-style hanging plants. "Wicked" watchers, you have it so good.
