The week's not over yet, but we're going to call it. The award for most visionary urban planning goes to reader doc, who waxes romantic on Treasure Island's plan to raise grades of developments so they don't get flooded: "This isn't absurd...it'll be just like Venice...essentially a sunken island where all the "developments" are surrounded by canals. No streets and limited sidewalks. There'll be a new industry...(gondoliers). Just the sort of picturesqe and sentimental thing that San Francisco loves!!!"
