Polk the Man

New, 3 comments

Someone bring Willis Polk back to 2009, if only for his cane-twirling antics. The turn-of-the-century architect (the previous century, duh), for whom Polk Street was named, was a huge celeb in these parts, a recent profile says. And this has got to be music to some of your ears: the man wanted to get rid of all the city's Victorians and remake San Francisco from scratch. [SF Gate]
