Transbay Builder Wants Easier, Cheaper, Sooner

New, 6 comments

Sounds like a campaign email circa September '08— a "bottom up" approach, not a "top down" one, is the one future Transbay builders Pelli Clarke Pelli want to take in building the terminal's train box (whatevs that is). In English: excavations sooner, rather than later, later, rather than sooner, and a tab that ends up cheaper by $100 million. The rub? It would also mean the temporary terminal might have to stick around a year longer, and an extra $350 million required for Phase I instead of Phase II. Luckily, all parties involved are already standing in line at the economic stimulus office. [Rincon Hill SF]
