The money, oh how it talks. (As for the sign, please recall this gem.)
I love my block -- in Ashbury Heights right off of Buena Vista park. Lately, many of my neighbors have been getting those construction parking permits authorizing their contractors to take up street parking all day every weekday. One of them has reserved 4 spots worth of parking Monday-Friday for nine months (counting extensions). The city says that as long as they pay for the permits, I can't do anything about it and my guests and I will just have to deal. Is that true? Can nothing really be done? Owners of the house are long gone - probably staying somewhere nice or vacationing while their $3m place is gutted and redone. Any way to get my block's street parking back?
