Negative: Castro Whole Foods Rumor Debunked

New, 19 comments

The former Ford dealership at Market and Dolores Streets will not, in fact, host a Whole Foods market. The former Bell Market on 24th Street in Noe Valley, however, will host a Whole Foods market -- "sometime after April, 2009," to be exact. This latest development in the luxury grocer's bid for all-city domination has effectively debunked one rumor and fired up another; Trader Joe's is now thought to be the front runner in a bid for the 29,000 square feet of retail space, which will sit beneath 80 residential units. (Note to Safeway: Get it together, girl— you're still a hot mess.) Noe Valley: Fire up those strollers, and get ready to ride. [Curbed Inbox]
