Wanted: bold, ambitious developer to build 550-foot residential tower as part of massive transit redevelopment in San Francisco. Strong people skills desired. Must have experience evading torches and pitchforks. Ahem, that is, the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency is on the hunt for a firm to build a 600-unit high-rise on Block 8, a state-owned lot freed up when the Embarcadero Freeway went down. The parcel, on First and Folsom streets, is being called the most valuable of the residential developments that will help fund the Transbay terminal — it's gonna be the tallest of them, at least, and it'll eventually open up onto a "retail mecca with wide sidewalks, greenery and outdoor seating." Well then. Any takers?
