Smarty Pants Meters for PG&E

New, 2 comments

PG&E’s set to replace old-school power meters across San Francisco with "smart," wireless meters, and city officials are not too happy about it. The new meters will allow customers to track their daily power usage, and will also report readings to PG&E (goodbye, PG&E man!). Supervisor Aaron Peskin, however, maintains the meters aren’t quite as sophisticated as they sound, and is afraid consumers will be charged once again when the new meters get replaced with better models.
