Spotted: No Stop for the Spray?

New, 1 comment

So claims this inventive window display at Modern Times Bookstore, on Valencia Street. (Who knew one could do more with Barbie than cut off her hair?) Back in June, the state has eschewed its original plan for an aerial hose-down intended to eradicate the light brown apple moth, an alleged crop predator germane to Northern California. According to this posted propaganda, however, the CDFA will still continue to spray outside of the city— within 10 miles, even. Even worse for spray opponents: Pesticides will still be delivered to the city, by applying repellent to telephone polls, setting insect traps, and— get this— using ground sprays, launched from some sort of truck-mounted fogging contraption (should be conspicuous enough here in anti-S.U.V. country).
