Have Diller Scofidio & Renfro won the commission for the Museum of Performance & Design? If San Francisco's own Gossip Girl, Zahid Sadar, is to be believed, the answer is yes. In today's edition of his erratic Chronicle design column, he claims that the firm—best known nationally for the redesign of NYC's High Line, and in San Francisco for their failed Moscone Center West sign, "Facsimile 2002"—beat out Zaha Hadid, Steven Holl and home-teamer Mark Dziewulski. Diller Scofidio & Renfro are definitely an exciting firm, but we (and most of you, apparently) were just starting to warm up to the swoops of Dziewulski. For now though, this is all just whispers and hearsay. We'll have to wait until September for the official announcement.
