Not that you've ever accidentally walked off a ferry dock because of Google Maps, but online mapping services are now beefing up their walking and biking directions for non-drivers. Should Google succeed in its endeavor to add paths and trails not available to cars but accessible to bikes and pedestrians, the benefits should be many and obvious.
