Green Things Aren't Always Green

Take a closer look next time you're buying a recycled soda bottle carpet, why don't you -- as you may or may not know, some "green" products are worse for the environment. (Gasp.) Forbes gently reminds us that a product's sustainability over its lifetime is often more important than the green buzzwords attached to its spec sheet — and concludes ultimately that it's greener to keep what you already have if you absolutely must remodel. Or, if you're building new, hit the salvage yard. But what about stimulating the economy? [Forbes]
