Fisher's Collection Boosts Camp Bid

New, 7 comments

Just when the Presidio Historical Association and Presidio Trust step back in the ring, Chron art critic Kenneth Baker lends a hand with a positively bubbly review of Don and Doris Fisher's art collection. The Fisher's collection is second-to-none, Baker claims, likening the collection to others of its scope. (Self-indulgent aside: The Broad Collection? Kenneth, you're killing us here.) Its auction value could exceed one billion dollars, Baker speculates. Positioning the Fisher's a civic-minded collectors— both have sat on the board of SFMOMA— he also notes that the Fishers emphasize "connoisseurship without snobbery" in their collecting habits. Totally. [SF Gate]
