The behaviors of the controversial, über -aggressive rental management barons have prompted Supes to take a look at new renter's rights measures. Despite of— or perhaps because of, depending on who you talk to— the defeat of Proposition 98, coupled with the ongoing mortgage crisis, rents are on the up. Sweet relieve just might be nigh, as the Board of Supes consider three new renters' rights measures: 1)an anti-harassment measure aimed at landlords (thanks Chip and Nicole!; 2) an expanded tenant eviction protection plan; and 3) a proposition that would place duplexes under the edicts of condo conversion laws.
