Nothing like the words "gentrification" and "Haight Street" to rile up the troops. From today's neighborhood kvetch over the demise of Magnolia's Grateful Dead mural: Said reader dante_sf: "Instead of gentrification, how about douchification. Gastropub. Really? Might as well have called the place Little Marina." And from an anonymous commenter: "Criminy. Why don't we just put the length of Haight Street in a goddamn bubble so everyone with a hardon [sic] for 1967 can live in an eternal flashback." Yeah, why don't we?
