It's official: The Planning Department has approved plans for 1285 Sutter Street, the retail/ residential project that developers Bay Rock Residential hope will "revitalize the architectural environment" of upper Van Ness Avenue. A new Trader Joe's will occupy 17,300 square feet of street level retail space. Up to 106 residential units— or "large urban homes" as the developer is billing the 1,055 square foot condos— and 170 below-ground parking spaces will take up the rest. Progress.
