Dear Curbed, My apartment recently underwent water damage as a result of a plumbing problem (not my fault). I was out of the apartment for almost a month, and had to move all my stuff out of my apartment, into storage, then back in. Now my property management group is telling me that "there's a problem with the insurance company" and thet they might not be able to reimburse me for the money I paid — out of my own pocket— to move out and back in (did I mention that I did this at my landlord's request?). I don't see how their insurance problems are my problems, but don't know what to do next. i love my apartment and don't want to be on bad terms with the property managers. Do I have another option before I take them to small claims court?
