Enough With the CitiApartments Drama

New, 2 comments

Memo to the City: How about we put this one to bed already? Back in 2006, the city filed suit against slumlords rental management company Citiapartments and its affiliate, Skyline Realty, for its allegedly long history of intimidating residents into vacating apartments, suffering without utilities, et cetera, et cetera, so on and so forth. Over two years later, the suit is stalled out in what the city is calling the "evidence gathering stage." Citiapartments' council maintains that the groups' (reportedly forced) buyout offers aren't used to coerce residents, while the plaintiffs have described military-style intimidation tactics including (but not limited to) forced entry, brandishing guns, making physical threats.
