Greener Than Thou: Carbon (Not) Neutral by 2020

Thwarted! Gavin's plan to provide $3 million in subsidies for homeowners seeking to install solar panels was stalled out by the Board of Supes at yesterday's meeting. The supes doth protested: The board should have been consulted first! The funding should have been approved beforehand! A subsidized solar rebate program could have been realized! Plans have ground to a screeching halt, and will remain stalled until the Supes' next meeting in several weeks. In the interim, City Hall is advocating for the use of tin foil as an alternative solar energy-conducting material; public hat making workshops will soon be held in the Tenderloin and SoMa nabes.
