Daly City, denied! A state Senate committee has refused to entertain a bill that calls for the razing of the venerable Cow Palace, host to many a raucous event, in favor of commercial and residential development. Following failed talks with the Palace's board of directors, Daily City officials partnered up with another Senator in order to make a grab for the site. The legislation in question deems Cow Palace a "surplus property"; its demolition would make way for the transformation of its 13-acre parking lot into retail and mixed-use development for the "underserved" area.
