Greener Than Thou: SF Blacks Out for "Earth Hour"

New, 2 comments

Greener Than Thou is our report on San Francisco’s obsession with all things green, calling bullshit in the poseurs and lavishing praise on those who have secured their place in environmental paradise. Greener than us? Most likely. Preach!

Remember back in October when residents and restos the city over switched to candles for "Lights Out San Francisco," the energy-saving action inspired by a similar event in Australia. LOSF was a success— save for a little snafu on the Bay Bridge— and so we find ourselves breaking out the provisions for round deux. Though Gavin drug his feet the first time around, he's going full-force this time: on March 29th, the Embarcadero Center, AT&T Park, Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz will do the blackout thing as part of "Earth Hour," another effort to overhaul Mom Earth. Tourists beware: you're not seeing jack that night.
