In Architecture Watch, Curbed SF expands its worldview to new structures across the globe. Projects of note should be directed accordingly.
Studio Gang's Aqua tower is set to open in the summer of 2009; situated in Chicago's Lakeshore East development, the 823 foot tall megalith will house hotel, retail, and residential units. Notable: the structure's undulating terraces function, according to the project website, as a means of "[allowing] the tenants to occupy the building façade and city simultaneously." Optical illusions abound.
