Another architectural gem just arrived in the CurbedWire inbox. Here, fair archilovers, are the preliminary plans for architect Toyo Ito's much-anticipated Berkeley Art Museum. The building, tentatively set to open in 2013, will house the museum's collection along with the Pacific Film Archive. (Plans for a new building became necessary after it was discovered in 1999 that the BAM/PFA was seismically unsound.) Stick with Curbed in the coming months; we'll keep you on track as the university works with Ito to refine the plans (which appear to be a little vague, according to these plans). Video goodness here. Site plan after the jump. [CurbedWire Inbox]
