CurbedWire Update: The Morning After on Valencia Street Fire

New, 3 comments

08:00 on Valencia Street: All quiet, at least compared to yesterday's madness. Over 100 firefighters battled the four-alarm blaze that began at the four-story 1470 Valencia Street and spread to the 24-unit building next door. Current stats: around 130 firefighters on the scene, which was declared "contained" at 7:30 last night. 2 buildings burned, at least 59 people displaced, 2 hospital admissions for smoke inhalation. 2 dead cats, 2 rescued by firefighters, along with several pet rats. No cause reported yet, though an arson team was dispatched to the scene for an investigation.
