An op-ed we missed from yesterday points out that the housing boom is slowly destroying the earth—or at least our little corner of it. Yep, our natural environment and housing industries are sitting side-by-side in a hell-bound handbasket. Except for Lennar's Hunter's Point proposal, of course — that one's okay. Except that it won't get built, despite the claim that "anywhere else in the country, civic leaders would be lined up to heap praise on such a project." [The Chron]
