Berkeley is spinning its wheels like mad over last week's ousting of the U.S. Marines recruitment station on Shattuck Avenue. City council members Betty Olds and Laurie Capitelli have since suffered some rather high-profile public chastisement after issuing a statement calling the Marines "uninvited and unwelcome intruders" in the city; they have since sought to rescind their words.
