On Demand: Condo Conversion Reform

New, 8 comments

To hell with condo conversion caps, says the San Francisco TIC Coalition, a non-profit that, along with others of its ilk, are fighting against the city's stringent laws against transforming rental apartments into tenancies-in-common. Citing last years' tenant eviction rate— the lowest SF has seen in a decade— advocates claim that condos no longer lead to tenant ejections as they once did. In a city lottery held tomorrow, 200 out of 1,944 applicants will receive permits allowing them to mess with their properties as they see fit. [SF Examiner]
