Nabe Throws Down Over Whole Foods on Haight

New, 11 comments

Addressing the truly pressing problems in the nabe, the Haight Ashbury Improvement Association is butting heads with the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council over the Whole Foods Market proposed for the former Cala Foods Market site on Stanyan and Haight Streets. Looks like a case of "The Man" vs. "The People" here, as some rail against the natural foods mega-corp. Why not preserve that open parking lot for the McDonald's spillover? People do have a constitutional right to free assembly, after all. [SF Metblogs]
