Little Vistiacon is growing up! Following months of legal battles and the ultimate approval of the Planning Commission, the old Schlage Factory is finally set to go, making way for a 46-acre "transit village." The redevelopment site will include up to 1,600 new housing units, 132,000 square feet of retail and three parks. The factory should be getting the axe some time early next year. The chair of the community group says "there will be dancing in the streets" at the demolition party. We're just glad there's a bit of good news -- and building -- on the horizon.
