A little parting gift from Chris Daly to Gavin Newsom. The Supervisor led a charge against $1 million in funds the Mayor had set aside for the center and won a 6-4 Board vote to put the money back into the dwindling pile -- perhaps to be used to shore up the newly gutted Department of Public Health? Oh the controversy! Of course, 8 votes are needed to overrule a Mayoral veto, which is basically guaranteed here to save Gavin's favorite pet Justice Center. Nice try, though, Chris. We're sure the Mayor Newsom appreciates the effort -- and we would've expected nothing less of you.
