Architecture Watch: A Metropolis Out of a Molehill

New, 7 comments

Looking like some sort of future-ancient Central American civilization, Dutch architects MVRDV have designed this future-ready, green urban center for Gwanggyo, a brand new town in Korea. The rounded-ziggurat design of each tower allows every floor in every building access to green space whose plants will help improve ventilation and reduce energy consumption. Dubbed "The Power Centre," the environmentally-friendly, organically designed mixed-use buildings reflect the city's goal of becoming a completely self sufficient city for 77,000 inhabitants.
