Life Goes On: Goodbye Thai Corner, Hello Mixed-Use

The long-in-the-works Market and Octavia plan, approved back in April, is starting to bear some fruit. And that fruit comes in the form of an over-50-foot-tall mixed-use building with ground-floor commercial, 22 residential units, and underground parking at— brace, guys— Thai House a.k.a. Thai Corner Express at the northwest corner of Market, Sanchez, and 15th. Hardly seems like the right time to be starting new projects, but the M&O area has been slated for more density, and by the time this project gets rubber-stamped, the RE market may actually have gotten up off its face. Now, about that empty lot across from Thai House...
