Mirant Mess: Really, Totally, Completely Dead This Time

New, 2 comments

They could've just left it on the table to die, but that's not really their way. So the Board of Supervisors called the Mayor Newsom's Mirant measure back to an adamant, unanimous "screw you, Gavin" vote. The measure would've taken away the Supes' ability to comment on the retrofit to the soot-spewing power plant, which just isn't how they roll. But what's next for the Potrero residents who are sick and tired (and mostly sick) from breathing in all those toxins? A whole lot of waiting for renewable energy sources to become a viable option to sustain the city in case of an emergency.
