Rental Watch: Chef's Kitchen Edition

New, 1 comment

Every once in a while, Curbed SF checks in with the San Francisco rental market. And we do it the layman's way: by scouring Craigslist. In today's episode of Rental Watch, we're gearing up for soup season by looking for the best kitchens available to Top Chef wannabes and non-homeowners. The stainless steel abounds -- for a price.

What: Studio
Where: the Haight
How much: $1700
The Hard Sell: Remodeled and "spacious" at 550 square feet, you're paying for the "brand new" in this one -- the cherry wood cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and ooh, a Moen Faucet! But, uh, you don't have a bedroom.

What: 1-2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment
Where: Cole Valley
How much: $3200
The Hard Sell: Sunny, newly renovated kitchen in this otherwise rather lovely condo comes complete with the requisite stainless steel, granite and Bosch dishwasher (bonus: matching microwave!). Just don't bump your head on those A-frame ceilings.

What: 4 bedroom, 3 bath house
Where: Twin Peaks
How much: $4750
The Hard Sell: Designer remodeled, "the entire home draws from a rich palette." That palette is heavy on the steel and granite, natch -- "The gourmet kitchen has it all. Handsome custom wood cabinetry, granite counters, wine cooler and top-of-the-line Bosch stainless steel appliances combine functionality and versatility to create a chef's delight and an entertainer's dream." Fancy.
