Designing for the Bailout Lifestyle

New, 1 comment

It had to happen eventually: designers and architects are starting to feel the effects of the finance crisis. As their clients are deciding to wait things out, they have to adapt - convince clients to scale back a renovation instead of backing out and maybe pick up a few pieces of furniture from IKEA instead of hiring that custom cabinetmaker. Says local designer Daniel Piechota, "Getting value doesn't necessarily mean compromising design." Until we're back on our feet, anyway. [Wall Street Journal]
