John King's on record today swooning over 185 Post St., the glassy home of ultra-bling De Beers. It's not the first time: in April, the excitable critic called the glass skin a "skin-tight, see-through blouse." Today, King recalls what led 185 Post to its current state of half-dressedness— a planned demolition that brought nary a preservationist's peep, a Koolhaas-designed Prada boutique that never happened, and finally today's "architectural specimen in an elegant jar." 'Scuse us while we run over to ogle this thing again. [SF Gate]
