New Fly-in Community for Non-NIMBYs

A pilot in Santa Paula is building a "fly-in community": condos at a small airport, with airplane hangars downstairs and living spaces upstairs. There are actually around 600 fly-in communities around the country already, but they're not easy to get together. To get the Santa Paula one OK'd, the owner had to get approval from the FAA in addition to local planners and transpo agencies. But who the hell wants to live in an airport? "Someone who is nuts about their airplane." [AP]
