Peskin Says: More Protection For Slopes!

New, 4 comments

A proposal on the Supes' docket introduced by none other than Aaron Peskin would make homes that sit on slopes of a 25% or higher grade subject to special permits and inspections. Home owners would be required to prove they have "sufficient infrastructure" and emergency access routes under this new "Slope Protection Act". This all sounds very similar to the recent "area" established in South Bernal, but something similar has been in effect in areas of Los Angeles for years now. This is quake country, people, and Peskin isn't messing around. [SF Weekly]
