Underdog Presidio Preservationists Make Bid for Endangered List

New, 3 comments

CAMP be damned! The Presidio Historical Association is seeking "endangered" status for the site, formally requesting that it be added to the National Trust for Historical Preservation's 11 Most Endangered Historical list for 2008. The PHA openly positions the bid as a direct affront to Herr Donald Fisher's proposed Contemporary Art Museum of the Presidio which, as we know, will occupy the space when it is if it is passed. The PHA's beleaguered History Center at the Golden Gate is the counter-plan to Fisher's CAMP and is (sorry PHA, but it is) more likely to be shot down due to Fisher's enormous fiscal resources, et cetera, et cetera. PHA crusaders are obviously going to fight for their museum until the bitter end. Fan or not, one's gotta respect that kind of moxie.
