Gav and company are opposing a bill, set to go in front of the supes in November, that would funnel millions of dollars worth of taxpayers' money into building affordable housing over the coming years— at least $88 million would be spent next year alone. Given the city's massive deficit for the next fiscal year, our mayor claims that the proposal has come at the "wrong time."
