New Friends on Valencia Street

New, 1 comment

A reader recently wrote us to inquire about the renovation at 250 Valencia Street, the former Levi's factory built in 1906. Turns out that Pfau architects are renovating the 85,000 square foot space into a sustainably-designed Friends School. Good to see some peace delivered to that end of the Mish , right? In keeping with Quaker tradition, the space will be built of wooden beams and columns, and designed to receive natural light. Flexible classrooms and spaces, a black-box theater, and student art gallery—sounds pretty posh to us 10,000 square feet of space in front of the building will harbor a garden and play area, too. No word yet on security plans.
