Mid-Century Thursday

66 Cleary Court, designed by Quincy Jones and built by Joe Eichler in 1963. Looks a lot like Jones' mid-rise buildings in Santa Monica of around the same period and one of his few San Francisco buildings. Like most of Jones' projects for Eichler, this is not luxury housing, and the only elegant detail Jones managed to incorporate is a little glass entry pavilion. Unit 1005 is a large South/West corner unit with two terraces; the larger of the two has been incorporated into the living room. Radiant heat, no A/C, popcorn ceilings and a kitchen that should be banished to a suburb somewhere. $780K, on the market just shy of two weeks and the only unit currently available in the building.
