Looks like Sunset Magazine is getting ready to jettison the 2007 yet-to-be-completed idea House. As per SocketSite today, the smaller of the two units in the building at 1303 Alabama Street (and the more complete, barely) hit the MLS. But rumor has it the listing went up without telling anyone at Sunset. And we imagine there will be some re-billing the owner/developer by vendors who provided materials and installation in that unit at cost. Or—gasp—for free. Unless the new owner agrees to open it up to the public for weekends. We think not, and not for $1.089 million. The small, two-story unit may be green, but it's also slightly odd: all the windows on the ground floor are frosted. No view in, or out. Beautiful staircase, artisan-crafted for the space from scrap steel pipe, and unlike the stair in the larger unit, it actually fits. Floors are salvaged wood. Nice baths. Cool little bridge from living area to terrace over garage (just above the blue truck in photo.) See it for yourself on Sunday, 1pm to 4pm. No one will charge you $20 to get in.
