Tranny Shack: the Videos

Architects have fallen in love with 3D animation. And no wonder- animation provides a highly seductive means of conveying projects to people who cannot (or shouldn't be expected to) read plans and elevations. Above, a bit of the Tranny Shack proposal from Skidmore Owings and Merrill, with more after the jump. SOM's responsible for a lot of San Francisco's skyline, most recently the St. Regis Tower at Third & Minna. The video quality is not so great, but considering the stakes involved, we're sure it was broken down to fit Youtube's file parameters. Still, an effective way of communicating, and so far SOM's proposal is the only one to make it to Youtube. Bravo!
