The proposals for the new Tranny Shack (aka Transbay Transit Center) were unveiled yesterday at City Hall and can be viewed there by the public today. Of course, they only give us a day to inspect the proposals, so maybe it's not such a big deal after all. Check out images online. Be forewarned, they're huge images and take a while to load. Worth the wait and easier than trying to get to City Hall. We especially love the image from Richard Rogers showing a totally dwarfed One Rincon Hill, while the Pelli Clark Pelli proposal takes the long view:
It is a simple and eternal form, like an obeliskPlus a little Crystal Palace thrown in. Architectspeak aside, it's nice to see some serious design around here for a change.
