It's not everyday someone's inspired to built an Streamline Moderne house in Marin County. New to the market this week, 1217 Waterview Drive, is exactly that, inspired by the 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair exhibition Century of Progress Homes. It's an aesthetic not everyone will be ready to love, if only because we were around for the Streamline Moderne revival in the 1980's and keep expecting Liza Minelli to pop out somewhere. But overall, looks like an impeccable rendition, down to the inset steel bands in the living room walls. $975K, first open next Sunday. Check out the rest of Marin Modern's site. Good stuff.
