Mid-Century Modern, And Open This Weekend

Here's our chance to see the c. 1948 Angus Sweeney-designed house in St Francis Wood. May not be his best work. The agent's enhanced online presence indicates the need for a new kitchen and baths (OK, maybe the sea-green one can stay) and it looks like one bedroom and bath are below grade. Exterior paint color is best described as "Park Service Brown" and that ivy should probably come off. Pluses: huge pool, ribbon glass, beautiful floors. Open Saturday and Sunday this weekend, 2-4, $1,795,000 seems high but we'll continue to be astonished. From the neat-and-tidy school of American post-war design- new but reassuring.
